On Wednesday this week, we had our annual tie-dye event on the library’s lawn! We had about 80 people show up to tie dye shirts, and we hand a very fun and messy afternoon despite the hot, hot heat. This is one of my favorite summer reading traditions here at NPL!
…and then on Thursday, we had our first session of our LEGO WeDo Robotics program!
As a group, we built Milo the Science Rover and programmed him to move around, stop, go, make noises, and change the colors of his light! We also talked about what science rovers like Milo are used for by scientists. There were a variety of ages at this program, but the kids all did an excellent job of sharing and taking turns. We’re very excited for next week when we get to put an object sensor arm on Milo and help him find a special plant specimen!
